October 24, 2018 Arlington, Texas – Sutton Frost Cary LLP (SFC) hosted their 18th Annual Day of Service on October 24, 2018. The firm closed the Arlington and Fort Worth locations so that all firm employees could volunteer their time for the day. This year, the firm split into two different groups volunteering at Community Food Bank in Fort Worth and the North Texas Food Bank in Plano.

The Community Food Bank group started the day sorting and organizing all of the cans that came to the food bank from a local university’s canned food drive. Then they prepped for the upcoming holidays by putting together bagged nonperishable meals. During the afternoon, the group made a huge impact in cleaning, sorting and packing up items in the disaster relief area.

The North Texas Food Bank group worked with 120 other volunteers from a variety of other organizations putting together boxed meals. During their first shift, they unloaded 13 pallets of food and made 624 boxes. That equates to 18,720 pounds of food which provides 12,480 meals. During the second shift, they unloaded 11 pallets of food and made 528 boxes. That equates to 15,840 pounds of food and 10,285 meals.

Despite the rainy weather, both groups thoroughly enjoyed the experience and are looking forward to next year’s annual service day!
