What’s your role at SFC? Tax Senior
How long have you been with the firm? About 3 ½ months
What made you want to become a CPA? In high school, my bookkeeping teacher showed a film about the new widespread use CPA designation and how it was going. (Wow! That dates me?) I was good in math and something just clicked.
What are 3 words to describe SFC? Super Fantastic Challenges (Wow I hate those kind of questions.)
How did you get to SFC? The Company I was with merged with SFC .
Before working at SFC what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had? I’d have to say that the most interesting was working for Williams & Webster in Spokane, WA. We did initial audits for development stage companies that were getting ready for an IPO. There was constant learning and challenges.
The most unusual was working in the office of a casket factory when I was just cutting my teeth so to speak. To this day, I know more about caskets then I every cared to and can tell you in a moment when they use the wrong casket style in a movie (unless it’s science fiction).
What can we find you doing when you’re not at work? That can vary widely. Most weeknights would find me at home working out, cooking or doing various projects. On weekends…. I might be going to the community theater in Granbury to a play or someplace else to enjoy a live theatre production. I might be working on a project for my church. I might be heading up to Tulsa for some time with the grandchildren, 2 of my children and their spouses. I might be hanging out with my daughter here. I might be going someplace new just to see what the hype is about.
